The state of Maine is located on the northeast section of the United States. In fact, it is the state most to the north on the east coast. The climate in the state is humid continental. The winters tend to be very cold and snowy while the summers are warm and humid. The coastal areas in the state of Maine are influenced in great part by the Atlantic Ocean. For the state the highest temperature ever recorded is 105 Fahrenheit (41 Celsius). The Maine weather that people who live in the state experience has one of the lowest amounts of days with thunderstorms in the country. Only the states of west of the Rockies can see less. Tornados are also rare in the state of Maine.
